The project activities are carried out in four provinces of the Ferghana valley: the Andijan and Ferghana Provinces in Uzbekistan, the Osh Province in Kyrgyzstan and the Soghd Province in Tajikistan. The project has created its regional Field Office-cum-Training Center in the city of Osh, Kyrgyzstan to support the project activities.

The project activities are basically carried out along three main canals - one  canal  in  every  of  the  mentioned  countries. These are the South Ferghana Canal (SFC) in  Uzbekistan, which is an interstate, inter-provincial and inter-district canal;  the Aravan-Akbura Canal (AAC), an inter-district canal in Kyrgyzstan; and the Khoja-Bakirgan Canal (KBC, former Gulyakandoz Canal), an inter-district canal in Tajikistan.
